Cameron Young obtained the first victory of PGA Tour. Miyu Yamashita captures her first major LPGA

Greensboro, NC (AP) – Cameron Young finally obtained his first PGA Tour victory on Sunday after seven finalists, and he made him easy. He had five consecutive birdies early to build a nine-stroke advance and led 2-mine of 68 to win the Wyndham championship by six shots.

He became the 1,000th player to win a recognized event PGA Tour, dating from Willie Park in the British Open of 1860.

Young followed these five consecutive birdies with nine consecutive pars, a pair of meaningless Bogeys towards the end only cost him a chance at the tournament record. He finished at 22-mine of 258, equaling the record held by JT Poston (2019) and Henrik Stenson (2017).

Mac Meissner pulled 66 to finish alone in the second, worth $ 893,800 and sufficient to move it to No. 86 in the Fedex Cup. He will not go to the playoffs, but it gives him a huge boost to stay in the top 100 by November to keep his card full.

The Wyndham championship is the latest regular season tournament that determined the Top 70 of the Fedex Cup which qualifies for the lucrative playoffs that start next week.

In the end, only Chris Kirk moved to the Top 70 with his tie for the fifth, and Byeong Hun An (missed) was the only one to die for. Matti Schmid sorted out his last three holes and stayed in 70th place when Davis Thompson has three shots the final hole.

LPGA visit and European ladies tower

Porthcawl, Wales Pays (AP) – Miyu Yamashita from Japan won her first major title when she aroused a charge of Charley Hull by not making Bogey until the outcome of the Women’s Open British is no longer in doubt. She closed with a 20-mes of 70 and won in two.

Yamashita put on two big putts out of the nine at the back at Royal Porthcawl, the last when Hull had closed in the head.

Hull started the last round in three shots behind. She put on a 20 -foot sneaky putt on the 14th to put herself in a single stroke. But the English star struck a bunker in a pot out of the tee at 16 and did well to do Bogey. She did another Bogey on the 17th and had to settle for a 69 to equalize the second with Minami Katsu from Japan.
