Hendrick Motorsports is Nascar’s best team and played a key role in the development of some of the best drivers. While the company is preparing for its future, it seems that there is a chance that Corey Day could win a huge opportunity next season.
On Saturday, Nascarumornostalgia shared that they had heard that Day would lead car n ° 17 for Hendrick full -time next season in the Nascar Xfinity series.

The HMS signed the day in January to a multi -year agreement, giving it a chance to run a few races in Xfinity this season. By driving car n ° 17, he had his first taste of the level in March in Martinsville Speedway, in eighth. He ran fairly well, goes back inside the top 10 after falling in the middle of the peloton, before the contact damaged his car and he finished 21st.
The day later, won a 16th place in Texas Motor Speedway in May, then delivered an 11th place two races later to Nashville Superspeedway. Later, he ranked 24th in the course on the road to Sonoma Raceway and recently ranked 24th in the results of the XFINITY NASCAR at IOWA.

The 19 -year -old had more experience in the Truck series (11 races) and the Arca Menards series (five races). For the moment, Day remains a full -time driver at High Limit.

It would be a bit of a bet for the HMS since Day always has a limited experience in the Xfinity series. He would only have 20 years for his full season recruited at Xfinity level, competing with very experienced drivers (Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill and Jeb Burton) in addition to the best Nascar prospects with much more Xfinity experience (Jesse Love, Carson Kvapil and Nicholas Sanchez).
A better way for the day seems to become a driver of the series of full -time trucks in 2026, in competition at a lower level where he has more experience and has demonstrated more success. In addition, the level of the truck has lower issues than the XFINITY level and there is less pressure to generate money.

In the end, Hendrick has a lot of time to decide where he will deploy the day next season. The 19 -year -old showed flashes this year that shows why he is one of the best hopes in sport, but he could be better developed in the truck series for a year before spending Xfinity.
