SUCHRECREEK – The second student of River View, Gavin Gress, drew 5 under normal 67 for medalist honors, because the Black Bears were the second of the 14 teams on August 1 at the Garaway Invitational at the Willandale Golf Course.
Gress was part of a River View team which pulled 293 to beat an 18 -hole school record that has stood since 1969, but fell into the playoffs of the fifth score of Warren John F. Kennedy. The first year student Colton Gress fired 70, Caleb Kline 78 and Clark Frieschen 78 for RV.
The CJ DOLAN of John Glenn fired 71 and Cooper Briggs 76 for John Glenn, who pulled 306. Hayden Gensor added 77.
Strasburg 161, Ridgewood 199: Spurgenor necklace pulled 45 and Wade Thompson 46 for generals in a double IVC in River Greens.
Gage Bonifant and Drew Lancaster had 39 for Strasbourg.

Ridgewood Second at IVC Pre-season meets: Brynn Harstine pulled a 71 under 71 under Pace Ridgewood to a second place at the pre-season tournament of the Inter-Valley Conference at the Hickory PAR-72 apartments.
Josie Staunton added 88 and Jacey Hess 92 for Ridgewood, who fired 356 and only followed the Garaway champion (350).
