Wimbledon 2025: London time has several heat delays related to fans, Aryna Sabalenka intervenes to help

It was a warmer day than expected in Wimbledon on Thursday and Friday, which led to several delays whenryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova clashed during the first match of the day. These delays continued throughout the event, because the game was also briefly interrupted on Friday.

The first incident occurred in the fifth game in the first set. With the action all linked to 40-40, playing briefly arrested while a fan received attention in the stands. Sabalenka intensified in the moment, bringing water to the fan.

Sabalenka joined after the stop, scoring two consecutive points to win the match.

A few games later, there was another stop due to the heat. Sabalenka again took measures, bringing water to the stands to help the second fan who was fighting with heat.

Temperatures have reached 84 degrees in Wimbledon, with many fans sitting directly in the sun.

The short breaks in action have distracted what was an excellent first set. Sabalenka and Anisimova exchanged matches early before Anisimova crossed a victory at the start of 6-4.

Sabalenka retaliated in the second set, taking 6-4 to bring the game to a final set. After a fantastic and going match, it was Anisimova who prevailed. She killed the female player n ° 1 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 to qualify for her first Wimbledon final.

After the first two judgments, Anisimova and Sabalenka were able to play a match without break the rest of the path.

Apart from these three fans’ stops, there was no additional late match in female singles due to the weather on Thursday.

Heat problems postponed Friday, when a fan was removed from the stands while Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz clashed on Friday. The delay was fast and the two players were able to return to play shortly after the stop.
