Things seemed trembling early, but Novak Djokovic finally found its form during a victory in the fourth round against Alex de Minaur at Wimbledon on Monday. After abandoning the first set 6-1, Djokovic joined to win the following three sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to qualify for the quarter-finals.
It seemed that Djokovic could be in an early release after the first set. Djokovic managed to take only one match during the set, falling into an early hole after losing 6-1. After the match, he said that he had not “felt the ball” and could not adapt to the rhythm of DE MINAUR in the first set.

From there, however, Djokovic understood this. He and Minaur played a strong and back tennis during the next two sets. While Djokovic still had unusual failures, he compensated for this with a flamboyant service that recorded six aces during the match. His service, combined when he returned after the first set, led Djokovic to take the second and third sets 6-4, 6-4.
This has set up a scenario where Djokovic could put Minaur in the fourth set. But with his back against the wall, by Minaur rallied, taking an advance of 4-1 in the set, mainly because of the sloppy game of Djokovic. In the middle of the fifth match, Djokovic had already made eight unlucky errors overall. DE MINAUR’s advance was not only due to Djokovic’s difficulties. De Minaur played an excellent defensive game, doing Djokovic work for each return.
Just when it seemed to be Minaur forces a fifth set, Djokovic suddenly came to life. He played impeccable tennis the rest of the path, winning the following three sets with long rallies and well-placed fire, linking things to 4-4. He then returned to an expert manner of Minaur’s served to take the next match, setting up a possible winning match of the match in the fourth set.
De Minaur failed to return the first two services of Djokovic and barely managed to arrive at the third, that Djokivic has easily returned for another point. The same thing happened on Match Point. Djokovic struck a fantastic service that was returned by De Minaur, but left him out of position. Djokovic easily placed his shot on the other side of the field, taking the match, set and match to go to the quarter -finals.
After the match, Djokovic took note of a special guest: eight times winner of Wimbledon, Roger Federer, who watched Djokovic to take from Minaur.
Djokovic even joked by saying that it could be the first match he won with Federer present. Federer laughs and nodded with this remark. “Good to break the curse,” joked Djokovic.
The victory marked the 16th time that Djokovic moved to the quarter -final in Wimbledon. The event was his second best Marshal-Fermer during his career. Djokovic won seven victories in Wimbledon and played in the final at the event in each of the last six Wimbledons.
